My experience with the Weya was a good one. I was not sure I was going to enter, but at the last minute decided to enter a submission.  I took someone advice to hire a writer to help me compile my 8 page story and information for the category of Emerging Business.  That in itself was a good exercise to go back and review when the business had started to 5 years later.  A lot had happened and a lot had been accomplished.  With someone else asking me questions and getting me to recognize all the hard work that had been done to get where Rituals was then and how lucky I was to be able to have the opportunities I have being a woman business owner in Canada.  I also saw what a great team of people I have working with me and how myself as a leader had grown from the first day we opened the doors in August 2003.

 The night of the Weya dinner was so exciting and was so taken with the numbers and variety of woman operated businesses that were being honored.  It was great to celebrate with family, friends, and peers all of our accomplishments.  You could feel the positive energy in the room and was happy that as women that we could be behind each other and give each other a pat on the back.  Which sometimes you forget to do to yourself for all of your hard work and you do not always take the time to evaluate what you are doing, how you are doing it and that maybe you are doing a good job!

 Would consider doing it again and Kudos to those organizing the event and the Woman Business Owners of Manitoba for hosting such a wonderful event.
